It’s been just under a year now since the former Top Gear hosts left our screens on the BBC. But now after a long time deciding what name the boys would use for their new show on Amazon Prime they have finally released what it will be called earlier today. Clarkson Hammond and May have decided on calling it ‘The Grand Tour” and Clarkson said:

“Thing is, we’ll be travelling the world hosting each episode in a different country, from a giant tent. It’s a sort of ‘grand tour’, if you like. So we’ve decided to call it The Grand Tour.”

The trio also thanked all the fans for sending in suggestions for the new show and that they were much appreciated. The Grand Tour also has a Facebook page online which includes some other names that could have been used as well as some pictures from filming in the various locations. Earlier in the year it was joked that the show would be called Gear Knobs, although Clarkson has since said that they weren’t allowed to use any name with the word “gear” in it as it was violating a legal right that the BBC have.

The Grand Tour is launching this Autumn on Amazon Prime, this is actually after the new relaunched BBC Top Gear with Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc and more. That is coming in the next few weeks on BBC 2.
