News from Alex and Ed Gaming

Windows 10 has been blurring the boundaries between PC gaming and gaming on an Xbox, but one thing the Xbox One has always had is exclusive titles and one of those is the infamous Halo franchise, but at Xbox E3 Microsoft announced that Forza Horizon 3, Gears of War 4, Scalebound and Halo 6 were all coming to Windows 20 as cross platform and cross buy games. This means you only need buy the game once on the Xbox store and it’ll work on Windows 10 and Xbox One.

You might have thought Microsoft still want people to buy and Xbox, but Phil Spencer said:

“The reason somebody wants to go buy an Xbox—or I’ll just say a game console, yes I’d love if they bought an Xbox—is they want to sit 10 feet from their television screen with a controller in their lap looking at a television playing a video game, it’s a different experience from playing on PC. I’m not saying it’s better or worse, it’s just different. Halo 5 absolutely could be played on a PC. There’s nothing about that gameplay mechanic that doesn’t work.”

In the long run, Microsoft’s plan is to bring every new versions of it’s first-party games to Windows 10 and Xbox as cross platform versions going forward, but we will know more soon.
