Apple’s HomePod, which after a short delay is finally going on sale next week on February 9th, with the pre-orders staring this Friday. Until this spring, the HomePod is only on sale in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia which could potentially be down to Siri issues. Apple is saying that by the spring, the HomePod will go on sale in France and Germany.

HomePod

For some context, the HomePod was originally announced at WWDC 2017, in June with a expected release date of “Later this year,” which everyone assumed as early December, which would have made sense for the holiday sales. But Apple delayed the release until “Early 2018.”

The HomePod, as expected deeply integrates with Apple’s services including Siri, iCloud and the main selling point it works with Apple Music, only. Except it is also a fully featured AirPlay 2 speaker, which means you should be able to AirPlay audio from Spotify and other services.

Pricing

So the HomePod is going up for pre-orders this Friday, 26th January, in Australia, United States and the United Kingdom. Orders will ship starting February 9th. Pricing is $349 / £319 / A$499 and it comes in White or Space Grey finishes.
