On Friday, Apple sent out some surprise invitations to an education based event which will take place in a few weeks on March 27th. The event is being held in Chicago, at the Lane Tech College Prep High School in Illinois. The event is focusing on the education market and what Apple can offer to schools.
What do we expect to see?
Now a March event for 2018 has been rumoured for a few months now, with speculation pointing to a refresh of the lower cost iPad, which Apple relaunched last year with the current £339 iPad 5th generation, as the price point of the iPad Pro was deemed a bit high for everyday iPad needs, such as web browsing, email and Netflix etc. The expectation is that Apple will give this model a hardware bump, likely with a better processor and maybe a better camera.
This event also seems to be heavily focusing on the educational market, with the media invites reading:
“Join us to hear creative new ideas for teachers and students.”
This event isn’t the first of its type, a few years back in 2012 Apple held an event in New York which focuses on iBooks Author and what the, at the time new iPad could offer to education.
