BBC is back this year with another season of Top Gear, staring Matt Le Blanc, Chris Harris and Rory Reid. Series 26 will see the three on Matt’s last series and the new series will be a little shorter than usual, with just five hour long episodes featuring a small 4×4 race, navigating Sri Lanka in Tuk-Tuks, tons of supercar action and the return of The Stig and the Reasonably Fast Car, where celebrity’s see how fast they can get round the test track.

Whats’s the future of Top Gear look like?

It has been nearly four years now since Clarkson, Hammond and May left the BBC and since then, the way Top Gear has been produced has changed a lot, for the first season without the famous trio, the show wasn’t well received by the public, the main three were Chris Evans, Matt Le Blanc and Chris Harris – with Rory Reid mainly heading up the Extra Gear show which was an additional 30 mins of behind the scenes and extra reviews. For the next few seasons after that, it was Chris Harris, Matt and Rory and that seemed to work well.

But come Series 27, Matt will have left and the upcoming Series 26 will be his last

“It’s unfortunate, but for these reasons I will not be continuing my involvement with the show. I will forever be a Top Gear fan and I wish the team continued success. Thanks for a great drive.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed working with the whole team… However, the time commitment and extensive travel required to present Top Gear takes me away from my family and friends more than I’m comfortable with.
