Earlier this week, Apple released watchOS 5.3.2 for Apple Watch Series 4 – this update was released for Apple Watch Series 1, 2 and 3 last month and it fixed a few security issues.

But why would Apple release an update to watchOS 5 when watchOS 6 is now out? Well, in order to update your Apple Watch to watchOS 6, your iPhone needs to be running iOS 13.

Users on an iPhone 5s or iPhone 6 with an Apple Watch Series 4 will be eligible for this software upgrade, as the phone can only run iOS 12. So Apple releasing this update is good for keeping those users up to date for security patches.
