Google Cloud Print is going away at some point next year, as Google is ending the service it launched back in 2010. Google Cloud Print was pitched as an easier way to print remotely and also a nice way to view print jobs online, but also it was a nice way for Chomebooks and other Chrome OS devices to print, but as Chrome OS has matured and actually now has its own native printer system, it is no longer needed.

Also, the tech landscape has changed a lot in the past ten years and arguably, people are printing a lot less.

“Cloud Print, Google’s cloud-based printing solution that has been in beta since 2010, will no longer be supported as of December 31, 2020. Beginning January 1, 2021, devices across all operating systems will no longer be able to print using Google Cloud Print. We recommend that over the next year, you identify an alternative solution and execute a migration strategy.”
