Amazon debuted the first round of Premier League matches on its Amazon Prime streaming platform this week, a lot of feedback on Twitter on the first night was pretty positive, users mentioning the price, picture quality and the features of the app.

Amazon’s record sign-ups

Amazon has said this week, that it has set a new record for the number of new sign ups for Amazon Prime over the first two days this week for streaming the Premier League matches. Amazon charges £7.99 per month or £79 for Prime and you get access to Amazon’s original programming such as The Grand Tour.

Amazon has also said that millions of fans watched the games live on Tuesday and Wednesday night, over 10 games were on over the two days.

It is reported that Amazon spent £90 million obtaining the streaming rights for three years. Further matches to be shown are nine on Boxing Day this year and one game on 27th December.
