With the launch of the Apple Watch in 2015 and then AirPods in 2016, Apple has really been focusing on wearable devices, the Apple Watch has had five revisions in less than five years and we are now on the third version of AirPods technically, AirPods Pro – so it should be no surprise to learn that Apple’s total shipments for wearables has blown up.

IDC, a research firm has reported that they estimate that in the last quarter, Apple shipped 29.5 million wearable devices which is up 10 million from the third quarter last year in 2018. Discounting the Apple Watch Series 3 has certainly helped, so has the launch of AirPods Pro.
