According to Reuters, the US Navy has now banned the use of TikTok if you have a device which is government issued. The concern is that the considering TikTok is Chinese owned, it may have ways of the Chinese government to influence people and or gain information from people.

Lieutenant Colonel Uriah Orland from the US Navy just said the ban was to “safeguard their personal information.”

So far, there isn’t any evidence that the Chinese government is using TikTok as a way to get some messages across, but the government seems to be concerned. The news came from a Facebook page, which is designed to let military staff know information and it said the app TikTok would not be removed it just wont work on the Navy Intranet.
