WhatsApp is everywhere, web, iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone, Android, macOS, Windows and more but if you support that large array of operating systems, older versions have to give and so do certain platforms. It’s time up for WhatsApp on Windows Phone soon, the company has now said that as of 31st December 2019, Windows Phone will no longer be supported.

WhatsApp has also said that the WhatsApp might not be available in the Microsoft Store any more, as of July this year

Also, any Android device running Andorid 2.3.7 or older will have its support ended on 1st February 2020, as will iOS 8 or older on that date too. Come these cut off dates, some features of the app may stop working and the ability to make or reactivate accounts will not work at all.

“there’s no option to transfer your chat history between platforms. However, we provide the option to export your chat history as an email attachment.”

As of writing, these platforms are the only ones which are supported and recommended by WhatsApp.

  • Android running OS 4.0.3+
  • iPhone running iOS 9+
  • Select phones running KaiOS 2.5.1+, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2
