Due to the ongoing coronavirus, a lot of events have been cancelled or rearranged or moved online. In the tech space, Google completely cancelled its I/O developer conference in any form recently and Apple moved its entire WWDC developer conference online only.
Now the latest motoring event to be cancelled is the Paris motor show, which was originally supposed to take place on the 29th September at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre. The event takes place every other year and is one of the largest motoring events. However, due to the current circumstances with the outbreak of coronavirus the show has been cancelled for this year.
“In light of the seriousness of this unprecedented health crisis and its consequent economic shock wave, which has severely struck the automotive sector, we are forced to announce that we will not be able to hold the 2020 Paris Motor Show in its current format at the Porte de Versailles. Nothing will ever be the same, but from this crisis we must learn to become agile, creative and more innovative than ever. We will keep you informed, as we go along, of the decisions we will make. As for now, our thoughts go to those directly affected by the pandemic, our health-care personnel as well as our clients who have to face, with solid determination, the economic impact of this crisis on their companies.”

A few days ago, the Goodwood Festival of Speed had been postponed and earlier last month the New York motor show has been postponed.
