Apple has now chosen to keep its physical retail stores closed in the United States, until early May. This decision comes after the company’s previous notification in March last month when Apple said all the stores in the world, apart from those in China would be closed until further notice.

This continued closure is obviously to help prevent the spread of the ongoing coronavirus.

Those employees affected will be working at home still until the stores reopen.

Apple is “continuing to monitor local conditions for every Apple facility on a daily basis” and that reopening decisions will be made on after “thorough, thoughtful reviews and the latest guidance from local governments and public health experts.”

Deirdre O’Brien – Apple Retail Chief

The original plan was to only close the stores until the 27th March.
