According to a report from WABetainfo WhatsApp is working on improving its video calling offering, which is especially important considering the need for working from helm and video conferencing apps and services have really taken the stage at the moment. Apps like Zoom have risen to the top recently, whether that is a good thing or not remains in peoples opinion.

WABetainfo has said that WhatsApp is soon going to be rolling out support for up to eight users in one chat, the current limit is four. A group call can be either voice or video and a call can be started from an existing group on WhatsApp.

With Apple’s FaceTime, users can have up to thirty two members in one call – so long as all the users are on iOS 13, iPadOS 13 or later and macOS Catalina or later.

The current support is in beta, so this should hit the main release soon.
