Today, Apple has revealed a new redesigned MacBook Pro 13-inch, it has received nearly the same treatment the 15-inch MacBook Pro did last year when it became the 16-inch but a lot of the important things have been fixed with the 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro.
For a starter and it needs no introduction – the butterfly keyboard is gone, just like with the 16-inch MacBook Pro and the new MacBook Air, Apple has finally ditched the butterfly keyboard which has had a lot of well documented issues over the years and has gone with the more familiar and more reliable, Magic Keyboard. The new keyboard has more travel and returns to the scissor mechanism.
On the inside, the 10th generation processors from Intel are here, with up to 80% faster graphics over the previous versions. the 13-inch MacBook Pro can also be specced with up to 32GB RAM and up to 4TB of flash storage. However, with the processors, while you may get the latest 10th generation on some models, you do need to jump to the £1,799 / $1,799 version to get it. The lower tiers at £1,299 and £1,499 have 8th generation Intel processors as standard.
Another welcome change is the amount of storage offered as standard, last generation 13-nich MacBook Pro models had 128GB as standard, the new one now has 256GB.
The brand new 13-inch MacBook Pro is now up for order starting today on apple.com and prices start at £1,299 / $1,299.
