Last week, Apple started to offer SSD kits for the new Mac Pro, meaning after you purchase a Mac Pro you can now expand the storage down the line if the upfront cost was a bit much to start with or your needs changed. Apple is offering 1TB, 2TB, 4TB and 8TB SSD cards and each kit contains too SSD cards.

This is the best way to expand the storage on a Mac Pro as the official drives will be tied to the T2 security chip. The 1TB SSD kit is £600, 2TB is £1,000, 4TB is £1,600 and 8TB at £2,800. Prices in the US are $600, $1,000, $1,600 and $2,800 respectively.

Apple also mentions that “Software reinstallation requires a second Mac running Apple Configurator 2 and a USB-C cable. Compatible with Mac Pro (2019).”
