This week, Google announced that it is going to be partnering up with a selection of hotels in the US to bring the Nest Hub to hotel rooms to provide voice assisted information to guests. Guests will be able to ask it for more towels and other questions about the hotel. But more importantly, during the current pandemic and the need to touch things less, you’ll be able to control the TV and lights.

With a regard to privacy, you’d assume having a Google device in a hotel room isn’t probably the best idea, but the Nest Hub that’ll be used in hotels will have no camera, a physical switch to disable the microphone and Google says that no information is stored on the device about the guest, no account is needed to be logged into and cone the guest leaves, the device is wiped of any information – ready for the next person.
