In the last few days, Ford announced the new Mach 1 Mustang which boasts a focused chassis for track, new upgraded V8 as well as unique styling inside and out. The Mach 1 was first seen in public at last weekends Goodwood Speedweek and for the first time ever, Ford will be offering the Mach 1 in Europe and the UK.

The Mach 1 features the same 5.0-litre V8, but now with 454bhp and 390lb ft torque but the 0-60 figures and top speed have not been revealed yet. On the outside, Ford has changed the front end with more efficient aerodynamics, retro lights and new air intakes. As well as the changes to the underneath of the car, the new Mach 1 car has 22% more downforce than the Mustang GT. Also changed are the new mirror caps, spoiler and retro font for the Mach 1 badge on the back.

On the inside, the Mustang comes with a six speed manual gearbox, but like the current Mustang GT it can be optioned to have a 10-speed automatic. On the inside, there isn’t much changed over the standard Mustang, besides the Mach1 badges on the dash and the white gear knob.

Prices for the Mustang Mach 1 start at £49,085 here in the UK, which is around the same as the Mustang Bullitt. Order books are due to open early next year, with deliveries starting later on.
