For Tesla, 2020 seemed a bit up and down, on the upside back in May last here the Tesla Model 3 was the best selling car here in the UK due to the pandemic, traditional car manufactures hadn’t caught up in time to the way Tesla sells its cars – all online. The company just changed the hand off to be deliveries or zero touch and there wasn’t much work to be done.
For the downside, the Semi was delayed, the Model Y had a minor recall and thats about it.
Despite that, Tesla had a very good year for deliveries and car production, the company managed to produce over 500,000 cars in 2020, despite the pandemic and delivered just under that to customers, at 499,550. 509,737 cars were produced in 2020. This is a large improvement over the numbers from the year previous, in 2019 367,500 cars were reported to be delivered.
So proud of the Tesla team for achieving this major milestone! At the start of Tesla, I thought we had (optimistically) a 10% chance of surviving at all. https://t.co/xCqTL5TGlE
