Partly due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, Jaguar Land Rover suffered poor sales in the second half of 2020, but the company remains optimistic of things to come. Sales in 2020 dropped by nearly 25% when looking a the numbers year on year. The company sold 425,974 cars throughout the whole world in 2020.

This is a drop of 23.6% compared to the figures from 2019. Out of the two companies, Jaguar itself saw the biggest drop in sales, of 36.5% with 102,494 cars sold in 2020. Land Rover sold 323,480 cars, a drop of only 18.3%.

The company does remain optimistic. In China for example, sales were actually up by 19.1% year on year and with the Jaguar I-Pace, the only fully electric model the brand has on sale right now has seen good sales numbers so far, in the last three months of 2020 the company sold 7,807 world wide.

“Our performance in China, the region least impacted by Covid-19 in the most recent quarter, has been particularly encouraging, with our sales there growing on both a year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter basis.”
