Microsoft launched the replacement for Internet Explorer, with Edge back in 2015 when Windows 10 was launched and the browser runs on EdgeHTML, which is Microsoft’s own rendering engine for the browser. However for a while now, Microsoft has been working on a Chromium based version of Microsoft Edge which will be replacing the old one and is already available to use.

Microsoft will be straight up removing the old version of Edge from Windows 10 via a patch for the OS on 13th April 2021, the update will install the Chromium one if not installed already and be removing the EdgeHTML one.
