Earlier today, Apple made the new M1 iMac, M1 iPad Pro and the refreshed Apple TV 4K available to order as well as the first shipments of AirTags made it to customers. The M1 iMac starts at £1,249 / $1,299, M1 iPad Pro at £749 / $799 and the new Apple TV 4K at £169, with that new redesigned Siri remote.
Orders went live earlier today, so naturally shipment times have slipped a bit since then, a base level iMac ships from 21st May to 27th May here in the UK, which lines up with what Apple says for availability being in the second half of next month. The 11-inch iPad Pro has the same shipment times as the iMac, but the 12.9-inch iPad Pro says later in June, which makes sense as that model has changed the most out of the two iPad Pro models, with the new XDR display.
Apple TV 4K shipment times are the same, end of May but the remote on its own says first half of June, this will be existing Apple TV customers upgrading to the new remote for a better experience.
The new iMac comes seven colours, reminiscent of the G3 iMac from the late 90s with blue, green, pink, silver, yellow, orange and purple. All models come with the M1 chip with an 8-core CPU and can be had either with an 7-core GPU or 8-core GPU.
The new iPad Pro models both come with the M1 chip too, with all storage options coming with 8GB RAM and only the 2TB version with 16GB RAM. The 11-inch model is largely unchanged, but the 12.9-inch now has a much brighter, mini-LED display.
Lastly, the Apple TV 4K which has been lightly refreshed, jumping from an A10X SoC to the A12 from the iPhone XS. The new chip allows the Apple TV to support high frame rate HDR and it now also comes with the new Siri Remote, which adds more buttons, does away with the touchpad in favour of a ‘click wheel’ style control area.
