Last week, Twitter announced that for the first time since 2017 it is resuming the Verified Account Program, allowing anyone to request to be verified so long as they are a government officials, journalists or any notable company or brand. Twitter asks for various fields to be filled in to request verification, such as Google Trends data, news references and more.

Twitter has said that initially, not everyone will see the option in settings, but it is rolling out to everyone soon. Twitter also said to be eligible, “your account must be complete, meaning you have a profile name, a profile image and either a confirmed email address or phone number. Your account must also be active within the last six months.”

Every request submitted gets reviewed by an actual human, so it might take a little while.
