England is now the first country in the world to enforce the installation of new electric car chargers on new-build homes, this comes as the deadline for the ban of new cars sold that are only combustion based is in 2030, after that any new cars sold have to be pure electric or hybrid, 2035 onwards any new cars sold have to be pure electric only.

The need for good infrastructure is important when customers are looking to move their car from petrol or diesel to electric, more and more places are getting chargers every day and the convenience of having a car charger installed on new homes removes the complexity and civils work to install units post build.

This new rule doesn’t affects new build homes without off street parking. Other programs are being worked on for homes without driveways, in London chargers in street lamps and units that rise up from the pavement are also being tested.

“Home charging provides the most convenient and low-cost option for consumers – you can simply plug your car in to charge overnight as you would a mobile phone”
