Late last week, Lamborghini revealed the all new Urus Performante SUV which like other Performante models, takes the standard car and improves on it. To date, the Urus is actually Lamborghini’s best selling car and the new version offers better driving dynamics, less drag all around and comes with a lighter weight too.

The new Urus Performante was revealed in person last week at the Monterey Car Week in California.

The Urus Performante is 47kg lighter than the standard car and comes with recalibrated steering. The main visual difference is the new carbonfibre bonnet, which in the press images is pretty striking. The engine is the same 4.0-litre V8, but now has an extra 15bhp taking the Urus to a total of 656bhp, with torque at 626lb ft. 0-60mph is handled in 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 190mph.

The Urus Performante is also lower than the standard car, 20mm lower and also, 25mm longer.

In terms of new features, Lamborghini has added a new Rally driving mode which will help it on dirt and sand. However, how many sold Urus Performante units actually make it off the tarmac, remains to be seen.

Lamborghini says the first customer deliveries of the Urus Performante will start at the end of 2022. Prices start at £170,260, a £10k-ish jump over the standard Urus which is £159,925.
